Sufism is mysticism in Islam characterized
by its spiritual values, peaceful practices and doctrines. It is Iranian’s way of opposition against strict interpretation
of the caliphate in Islam to
regain their independence and identity. Sufism has had diversified deep effects
in different aspects of Iranian’s life including poetry, Art and Architecture. Rumi (Molavi), the world-famous
Iranian poet is one of the most
well- known sufism icons in the world.
Artistic designs inspired by Sufism are
deep and aesthetically pleasing. Regular geometric patterns in Sufi-influenced architecture
reflect the
depth of the artist’s thinking and the
innumerable dimensions of the universe.
